MR W. MARSHALL HONOURED DIRECTORS PROUD OF HIM Mr W. Marshall, of Paeroa, chairman of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, had reason to be proud of the remarks made about him at the annual meeting last week. Several speakers referred .to him in such terms as “working nobly for co-operative farmers throughout our territory and the whole Do- • minion”; “a man of outstanding character and ability, who has the confidence of every intelligent farmer”; “one who will bring about greater co-operation among co-operators”; “a valuable aid to the Government in these times of stress”; “a man with the confidence of the Farmers’ Union”; “one who is carrying a man-sized job at the present time”; “his fellow directors are proud of him.” When Mr J. T. Young, who was presiding at the 'time, put the motion expressing continued confidence in Mr Marshall, all present rose and accorded him musical honours in ringing tones. Mr Marshall made an appropriate acknowledgment. Thanks were also accorded the London managers, Messrs J. E. Hunt (Empire Dairies) and A. L. Finch (Amalgamated Dairies) and their staffs; also the whole of the staffs, indoor and outdoor, in New Zealand, for splendid services consistently rendered.
