STATE OF ROAD

NO METAL FOR THREE YEARS COMPLAINT FROM' RATEPAYER Mr T. G. Bunting wrote to the August meeting of the Coromandel County Council drawing attention to the very bad state of the road between Opitonui and Owera bridges. He stated there had been no metal put on this stretch of road for over three years and considering the rates in Whangapoua riding were 100 per cent, paid up he considered some metalling should be done. The grader had*been over, but could do little as there was no metal to work on. It was decided .to investigate a quarry nearby with a view to doing some metalling as soon as the weather permitted.
