YOUNG MOTHERS
ENTRY INTO INDUSTRIES At the recent conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held in Wellington, attention was drawn to the tendency of young mothers to enter industry, with the consequent neglect of home life. Children were the nation’s greatest asset, delegates said, and unless the integrity of the home was preserved victory would not mean a peaceful future. It was decided to seek Government support in making mothers realise that their first duty was to their children and not to making extra money while their husbands were overseas.
