RUGBY IN PAEROA
MATCH AGAINST WAIHI GAMES WITH THAMES LATER A meeting of the Management Committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held in the Gazette Office on Monday night when arrangements for the match with Waihi next Saturday were finalised. Mr C. Linden of Waihi was appointed referee for the game which it was decided would start at 3 p.m. It was decided to arrange a game between High School and a third grade team as a curtain-raiser, commencing at 1.30 p.m. All third-grade players are requested to report at the Paeroa Domain at 5.15 on Thursday night when the team will be selected. It was decided that as the Thames Jockey Club would be racing at Paeroa on August 7 no football be played that day. The secretary was instructed to arrange a game with Thames at Paeroa for Saturday, August 14. THIRD-GRADE TEAM PLAYERS FOR PRACTICE The following third-grade players are requested to attend a practice at the Paeroa Domain on Thursday night at 5.15 p.m. when the team for Saturday’s match against High Schoolwill be selected: — P. Gage, D. Bennett, Prout, D. McNeill, M. Wallen, A. Pearson, J. Kurtovich, F. Treanor, G. Chaney, A. Finlay, K. Barratt, A. Jane, R. Jessen, L. Handley, B. Neil,. J. Herekuiha, E. Carlton. JUNIOR TEAM MATCH ON SATURDAY The following junior team will represent the Paeroa Rugby Union in a match against Waihi on the Paeroa Domain on Saturday:— Full-back, C. Speechlay; three-quar-ters, G. Douglas,* W. Shilton, A. Crosby; five-eighths, R. Baker, K. Ryall; half-back, F. Chaney; forwards, J. Murphy, R. Pearson, J. Tukaki, W. Strong, R. Neil, G. Fulton, N. Vinnicombe, W. Niven; emergencies: W. McKain, J., Jamieson, N. Hansen, D. Bennett, G. Smith.
