FOOTPATH POLICY

CONCRETE IN BOROUGH PROGRESS MADE TO DATE STREETS ALREADY COMPLETED A policy of permanent footpath construction whereby concrete is being laid down in various parts of the borough has been embarked upon by the Paeroa Borough Council and at Thursday night’s meeting of the council the Works Committee reported on progress made in this work to date as under :— “Concreting of footpaths has been proceeded with and paths Completed to date are as follows:—Hughendon street from Junction street to Francis street; Francis street from Hughendon street to G. Dent, Snr.; Station road from Moore’s Service Station to Rye Lane corner; Bradley street from Station road to Corbett street. “Albert street is the next on the programme but. there are three poles to be shifted here, so that we can get the kerb and channel on solid ground. The Post and Telegraph Department and the power board have been consulted and are submitting a price for shifting the poles. Pending completion of this work we are filling in the open drain and preparing the ground for concreting.”
