WOMEN MEET AT NGATEA OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED There was a fair attendance at the Women’s National Party meeting which was held in Ngatea on Thursday evening. At the request of the president, Mrs W. Jones, all members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late Rt. Hon. Gordon Coates. The meeting pledged itself to support Mr A. S. Sutherland, member for Hauraki. Officers for the year were elected as under:—President, Mrs W. Jones (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mrs Wallis and Mrs D. Waite; committee, Mesdames Davis, Smallfield, Burke, M. Grbich, V. Barriball, G. Hunt, H. E. Cole, G. Flint, F. Speedy, H. Waite and Miss A. Paul; secretary pro tern, Miss M. Nelson.
