COUNTY CHAIRMAN

MR W. MARSHALL RE-ELECTED

POSITION HELD FOR 12 YEARS

At the annual meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council held in Paeroa on Wednesday, Mr W. Marshall was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year. Mr Marshall has been chairman of the council for the last 12 years, first taking office in 19*32. When the clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, called for nominations, Mr T. A. Barrett proposed Mr Marshall and this was seconded by Mr J. J. Shallue. There being no other nominations the clerk declared Mr Marshall elected. In returning thanks for his reelection Mr Marshall intimated that the present year would be his last as chairman of the council and that he would be retiring from, local body work after May, 1944.
