COROMANDEL INSTITUTE MEETS
RESULTS OF THE COMPETITIONS
The monthly meeting of the Coromandel branch of the Women’s Institute was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Wednesday, May 5. The president, Mrs D. Strongman, presided over a fair attendance*of members.

A letter was read in connection with adult education, and after a short discussion it was resolved that Mrs Anderson attend the lectures.
The president’s monthly letter was read. Advice was received that the Dominion conference will be held in Gisborne this being' the only suitable place that could provide necessary accommodation. It was decided to send a delegate from Coromandel. One new member was proposed and accepted for membership. It was resolved that Mrs King read the lecture at the June meeting. The roll call which was, “What 1 would do if a burglar came,” was answered promptly. Competition results were as fol-
lows: — Sugarbag Kit.—Mrs McKenzie 1, Mrs King 2, Mrs Deeble 3. Apple Tart.—Mrs McKenzie and Mrs Inglis, dead leat, 1, Arranged Reaves. —Miss G. Russell (only entry). Preserved Beans. —Mrs King (only entry). , Best Marrow. —Mrs Inglis 1, Mrs Strongman, 2. Wall Competition.—Mrs Murphy and Miss G. Russell, tied, 1. The meeting closed with the National Anthem and supper was served.
