COROMANDEL COMMITTEE

MR S. HORNE TAKES THE CHAIR

A public meeting was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Coromandel, on April 29, when Mr C. G. Jackson, organiser for the National Party, and Mr W. Johnstone, chairman of the Electoral Committee, were present. An apology was received from Mr Clark, who was unable to be present. There was a small attendance but what was lacking in numbers was offset, by the enthusiasm of the few. Mr S. Horne was elected chairman, of the local committee and nominations were duly received for members of the committee. A commit :ee of 16 was elected, and an executive committee will be formed at a later meetThe meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Messrs Johnstone and Jackson for their assistance in forming the local committee in Coromandel.
