LODGE MEMBERSHIP
LOYAL HAURAKI COMMENDED
The Loyal Hauraki Lodge has been succesful in winning the membership shield for lodges of under 200 membership. This is the second time the shield has come to this lodge, it having been won two years, ago. During the course of his addiess at the District Conference, the Grand Master of the Order in New Zealand commended the efforts of lodges who had sustained an increase in membership during the difficult period existing at the present time. He called on members to stick to their lodges, and made an^appeal for workers to keep the lodges alive, so that when the serving members came back they would find live organisations, , and rot a dying society, in which to pick uu some of the threads of civilian life
again. He emphasised the size of the job the serving members had undertaken, and the splendid way they -were doing it, and that all who are left have also a job to do, and must carry on the work and be worthy of the many sacrifices that have been made for them. He concluded his remarks with the suggestion that lodges take the word “Grow” for their motto—which initial letters spell “Go Right On Working.” Hauraki Lodge was well repiesented at the installation of officers of the Auckland District Conference held in Auckland last week. Those present at the function and the dance which followed were 'Sisters L.' Fisher, E. M. Lucas, J. Notman, M. Coffey and E. A. Riley and Bros. Tony Hart, Ivan McCall and Dick Denize.
