SERVICE AT KAIHERE

ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATION

LARGE ATTENDANCE OF PUBLIC

There was a large attendance of returned servicemen, Home Guardsmen and the general public from the Kaihere and Patetonga districts at the Anzac Day commemoration service held in the Kaihere Hall last Sunday. The service opened with the singing of the National Anthem and was followed by a prayer by Commandant R. D. Sawyer of the Salvation ArmyAfter a hymn Mr W. Wallace, of Patetonga, read the lesson. A hymn followed after which Rev. Crammon gave an outstanding address. A final hymn concluded the service. Wreaths were placed on the Cenotaph by members of the R.S.A., Home Guard, W.W.S.A. and the general public at the conclusion of the service .

A large collection was taken up.
