PAEROA FAREWELL

MR R. MOLONEY HONOURED

VERY PLEASANT EVENING

A very pleasant evening was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. Cochrane of Paeroa, the occasion being a gathering of the friends of Mr Russell Moloney their youngest son, to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure to join the Air Force. Dancing and musical items were thoroughly enjoyed 'by both young and old, the pianists being Mrs Evan Thomas and Mr Cecil Mettam.

During the evening Mr L. Richards on behalf of the friends gathered, presented Russell with a money belt and leather hold-all and in a few wellchosen words wished the guest of the evening good luck and prosperity in his future sphere. Toasts were also proposed to Mrs Cochrane’s two i elder sons, Vincent, serving with the R.O. Coy. in Egypt and Desmond, also a member of the Armed Forces.

The evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem.
