PLUNKET AFFAIRS
MEETING IN COROMANDEL FINANCES VERY SATISFACTORY The twelfth annual meeting of the Coromandel sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Restroom at Coromandel on Tuesday, April 13. The balance-sheet stands in a very satisfactory condition owing to the generosity of members, and especially to the excellent effort of the town generally in supporting the Paddy’s market last year. This brought in more than in any previous year, in spite of the shortage of materials and labour.
The nurse’s annual report show. «n increase of attendances over 1 t year, more mothers availing themselves of her advice. The difficulty of oranges being unobtainable has been satisfactorily surmounted by the use of lemons and tomatoes, and many mothers have availed themselves of the plentiful supply of wild rose hips to make rose-hip syrup, so that their children shall have an adequate amount of vitamin C.
Thanks were tendered to the Coromandel County Council for the use of the Rest-room, also to Miss Mitchell for auditing the accounts, and to the members and friends of the society,
who have so generously helped to supply the funds to carry on this good work, and who, it was hoped, would
