WHARF AT PORT CHARLES ©ECISION OF THE COUNCIL Messrs' Watkin and wrote to the April meeting of the Coromandel County pointing out the damage done to the Port Charles wharf by the recent gales. After a short discussion in which, the engineer, Mr A. H. Benham stressed the necessity for the repair work to be done i. immediately it was proposed by Cr. A. J. Denize and seconded by Or. T. E. Simpson * that the work be proceeded with ini< mediately. w . Cr. -Denize pointed out that as it was a tidal job the offer of local settlers to do it on wages should be accepted. He was of the opinion that; it would cost less than letting it by contract in view of the nature of the work.
