Ranger Leaves At ’ the . April meeting of the Thames C ounty Council the ranger for the Coast road asked to be relieved of his duties as he had taken a bus-driving job and could no longer give time to his job as ranger. The council accepted the resignation: and resolved that an effort be made* to get another man. Council Meets

The April meeting of the Coromandel County Council was held at Coromandel on April 14 when the chairman, Mr C. C. Rae, presided. Also' present were Crs. A. Watkin, J. GStrongman, H. C. Bull, E. M. Minifie,. A. J. Denize, T. E. Simpson and J. E. Jackson. The clerk, Mr J. -H. Lucas, and the engineer, Mr A. H. Benham, were also in attendance.

County Council Accounts totalling £B3l 9s Hi were passed for payment at the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council.

Whitianga Ferry Landing At the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council the tender of Mr G. Nicholson was accepted for the repairs to steps, fender piles and construction of concrete slab deck, for the Whitianga Ferry landing. Cr. A. Watkin also reported that the wire on the derrick at the landing was. showing signs of wear. Loading Platform at Wharf It was decided at the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council that the erection of a loadingplatform at the Coromandel wharf be proceeded with. Angledozer for County At the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council, the engineer,, Mr A. H. Benham, related his transactions with Messrs Dominion Motors Ltd., regarding the fixing of the angledozer and that the machine was nowready to be taken over, which step* he recommended. It was proposed by Cr. Watkin and seconded by Cr. J. E’.. Jackson, that the council take over the machine and accept delivery from the Main Highways Board.—Carried.
