FAST AND FURIOUS
GOOD COMEDY AT REGENT
“KISSES FOR BREAKFAST”
“GO WEST YOUNG LADY”’ ALSO\
Warner Bros, have provided just about everything on the romantic comedy menu in the new picture “Kisses For Breakfast,” which will show at the Regent Theatre' Thursday and Friday. Starred is Dennis Morgan, handsome, husky leading man who scored such a hit as Ginger Rogers’ boys friend in “Kitty Foyle.” Henceforth, Warner Bros, announce, Dennis will l be given nothing but important roles. 1
In “Kisses For Breakfast” he has two beautiful leading ladies in Jane Wyatt and Shirley Ross, brunette and blonde respectively. Dennis doesn’t merely prefer blonds —he prefers both Jane and Shirley. The story has him as an young man who has just married a lovely society girl, Shirley Ross, when he becomes the victim of a hold-up staged by a former girl friend who feels her feelings have been hurt so much that 10,000 dollars is the only balm which will restore them. Denis refuses to pay, so he is beaten up and his car driven over a cliff to give the impression that he has been killed and his body washed out to sea.
Morgan becomes an amnesia victim, finds the address of his wife’s cousin, Jane Wyatt, in his pocket, adopts another name, which he happens to see on a real estate notice, and makes his way to the South Caroline plantation owned by Jane.
From that point the fun is- fast and furious, and few situations projected on the screen have been fraught with more uproarious possibilities than the arrival of’Dennis and Pane, now his wife, at the wedding of his “other wife,” Shirley Ross, to a former suitor.
“Go West Young Lady”
A custard pie is a better banditstopper than a blazing bullet! Upon that novel assumption, Columbia is said to have hung one of-the most delightful Westerns ever filmed, “Go West, Young Lady,” which is packed with mirth, mussic, melodrama and t ■oomph. “Go West, Young Lady,” will also show at the Regent Theatre, Thursday and Friday. As the lovely young heroine of “Go West,” Young Lady,” Penny Singleton tosses off a pie or a song with equal abandon, handles a six-gun or a dance routine with delightful ease. As her romantic lead, Glenn Ford once again proves his versatility, displaying a rare talent for comedy. Lovely Ann Miller shows just why she has* been acclaimed as one of the leading tap dancers of the world and shares musical honurs with Miss' Singleton. ■ ' ) FINALLY TO-NIGHT “MEN OF TEXAS” ONLY “George and Margaret” will not be screened at the Regent Theatre tonight. The programme will consist of “Men of Texas” supported by firstclass shorts.
