SETTLER WANTS METAL ROAD INTEREST ON MONEY SPENT Writing to, the March meeting of the Coromandel County 'Council Mr A. J. Goudie stated that if the council would metal a portion of the Waikawau road to cost £5O before -the winter weather sets in that he would pay the interest on the amount spent as long as the war lasted. Mr Goudie pointed out that he will be milking 80' cows next season. After a short discussion in which Mr Goudie’s offer was commended for its progressive spirit, it was resolved that a copy of his letter be sent fo the Minister of Public Works and also to Mr Thorn, M.P.
