THANKSGIVING SERVICES

COROMANDEL METHODISTS

The harvest festival services were held at the Coromandel Methodist Church on Sunday, March 14. There was a splendid display of vegetables, fruit and flowers tastefully arranged by members of the church.

Amongst the harvest thanksgiving hymns several anthems were rendered by the choir. A duet was also sung iby Mrs Battson and Miss Martin. The Rev. C. Aker in his address stressed the idea of the harvest thanksgiving festival as being the modern version of the old mosaic law of giving a tithe or tenth of the earth’s production to the service of god. On the Monday evening the fruit and vegetables were disposed of, the ,proceeds going to the work of God. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SPECIAL HARVEST SERVICES Special harvest services were held at the Presbyterian Church, Coromandel, on Sunday, March 21. Suitable harvest hymns were sung and the ehoir rendered an anthem' “Bringing in the Sheaves.” There was a very fiiie display of vegetables and fruit. Floral decorations were all tastefully arranged. The Rev. H. A. Moore conducted the services which were well attended.
