An unusual incident occurred at the Horotiu School last week, when one of the pupils, Jack Malcolm, accidentally served a tennis ball into the solarplexus of a sparrow. The unfortunate bird fell fainting to the ground, and did not recover for several minutes. Such an occurrence must be exceedingly rare, and is certainly not mentioned in any of the rules of the N.Z. Lawn Tennis Association.
