CHRISTMAS SEAL ISSUE
ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS FUND. STAMPS NOW ON SALE. “The Christmas Seal,” a 2d stamp—a penny being for postage and a penny for the anti-tuberculosis fund —are now on sale at post offices throughout the Dominion. It is considered opportune to introduce the stamps at this time of the year, and the charitable aim is expected to appeal to the community. The scheme gives an. opportunity to those who can contribute only very modestly to charitable works. The fund is’to be used in the main for prevention work among children who are in contact with sources of infection. One of the objects is to inaugurate health camps to which children who have been “contacts” with cases of tuberculosis can be sent. The Health Department hopps by this means to safeguard many young lives. Each, stamp will have a postage value of Id only, and on receipts it will be necessary to affix two, thus providing for the duty and leaving 2d for the health fund.
