RIFLE SHOOTING.
PAEROA DEFENCE CLUB. COMPETITION SHOOT. On account of the 900yds range not being available on Saturday the members of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club could not fire the match at 800yds and 900yds ranges to complete the first roqnd of the club competitions, so the first shoot of the second round was fired from 300yds and 500yds ranges. The conditions were not of the best for shooting, some of the riflemen firing in heavy rain. The competition was carried out under the usual 1 conditions, and the top score was registered by President F. C. Hubbard, with Cadet A. Simmonds second. Following are the details :— President F. C. Hubbard, 28 at 300yds, 81 at 500yds, handicap 3, 62 ; Cadet A. Simmonds, 32, 26, 3—61 ; Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson, 27, 29, 3—59 ; Rfm. R. I. Roberts, 29, 25, 5—59 ; Capt. H. 26, 32, scr.—sB; Dep. Pres. R.
