THE TALKIES.
AURORA THEATRE. TO-NIGHT, THURSDAY, FRIDAY. GIVE AND TAKE. The' story of “Give and Take” concerns a fruit canning factory. The owner has built up his business step by step, bearing the entire responsibility of financing it. His son returns from college, and feeling that as he is a member of the firm, and should demonstrate fair play to the employees, endeavours to put the business on a profit-sharing basis. Jean Hersholt, the famous character star, plays the role of Bauer, owner of the factory and father of young Jack Bauer. George Sidney, who enacts the role of Kruger, life-long friend of Bauer, gives one of his inimitable characterisations and causes laughs galore in this excellent comedy-drama. George Lewis as young Jack Bauer and Sharon Lynn as his sweetheart have the juvenile leads and carry the love interest of the story.
