PLAY DURING WEEK. SHIELD AND GRADE GAMES. Several grade and Brenan Shield games took place on the Paeroa bowling green during the past week. Some excellent play was witnessed in the “B” grade, the players promising well. Two Brenan Shield games took place. Following are the results : — Thursday’s play.— “A” grade : Bowmar 24, v. Gibb 11. “B” grade : Lowden 26, v. McClinchy 5 ; Doolan 21, v. Pye 11 ; Dittmer 18, v. Weadon 17. . Saturday.—Brenan Shield : McClinchy, Morland, Pascoe, G. H. Taylor (skip) 29, v. Dittmer, Weadon, Holes, Mettam (skip) 20 ; Bassett, Vowles, Bowmar, Gibb (skip) 21, .v. Kidd, Innes, Chamberlain, Silcock (skip) 15). Pairs Competition.—Chamberlain and Mettam (skip) 20, v. Barclay and Gibb (skip) 19. PAEROA V. TE AROHA. The following have been selected to represent Paeroa against Te Aroha at Te Aroha on Saturday next in the Howden Shield competition : — , Bowmar, Towers, T. L. Williams, C. Mettain' (skip). An inter-club match will be played at Te Aroha between Paeroa and Te Aroha on the same day.
