PADDY’S MARKET.

ST. PAUL’S LADIES’ GUILD. SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR. A successful Paddy’s Market was held on Wednesday afternoon and evening by the St. Paul’s Church Ladies’ Guild. The Gaiety Theatre was appropriately and prettily decorated for the occasion, the whole effect being very pleasant, and reflecting great credit on those responsible. The stall-holders were kept busy by numerous visitors t hroughout the affair. The following were the stalls and the names of those associated with them :—

Jumble, Mesdames Holes, Mettam, and Morland ; flower, Mesdames Andrews, Argal and Towers ; Christmas tree, Mesdames Barclay, Fathers, and Hubbard, and helpers; strawberries and cream, Mesdames Davis, Nichol, and Simmons ; tea, Mesdames Alexander, Hargreaves, Lipscomb, Ratliffe, and Roberts. During the course of the evening a musical programme was given, to which Mrs Barclay, Misses G. Dale and Emmott, and Messrs Linton Eskrigge and Frank G. Williams contributed. Miss Swann and Mr D. Fraser gave a clever exhibition of an Apache dance.
