THE TALKIES.

OPENING TO-MORROW NIGHT. CLOSE HARMONY. To-morrow night the long and eagerly-looked-forward-to “Talkies” will be seen and heard in Paeroa, the installation of the-permanent machine having been completed. The film to be shown is “Close Harmony,” a story of the stage, of a boy’s ambition, and how he realised it. The intimate glimpses of the stage and the pebple who earn their living there make this one of the most interesting stories that have reached the screen. Nancy Carroll and “Buddy” Rogers are the stars. TURUA PICTURES. GINSBURG THE GREAT. "Ginsburg the Great,” with George Jessel, showing at the Turua Hall tomorrow night, is a ludicrous series of youthful adventures. An ambitious tailor apprentice reads up on magic, joins a carnival, and sets forth to see the world, and does. It is one of the funniest films of the year. OUT ALL NIGHT. On Tuesday night Reginald Denny in “Out All Night” will be screened. This shows Denny in one of his best farcical comedies, and is a scream of laughter from beginning to end. He proposed in an elevator, they got married in a taxi-cab, and intended honeymooning at Niagara Falls, but they didn’t.
