GOLF.
END OF SEASON AT PAEROA. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The Paeroa Golf Club’s season ended on Saturday, when there was a large attendance of players. Several matches were played during the afternoon, the winners being as follows :— Approaching and putting competition : Ladies, Mrs Bray ; Men, A. F. Steedman. Stroke competition : Ladies, Miss Ellis ; men, Dr. Davis. Consolation prize : Ladies, Miss Argali. During the course of the afternoon Mr A. Pellow, the president, in the course of a short speech expressed pleasure at the successful season the club had experienced, and presented the following trophies won during that period : — Club championship, Mrs H. Bray ; open club handicap, Mrs H. Bray; monthly medal rounds, Mrs Miller, Mrs Bray, Miss Gibb, and Miss Forrest ; eclectic handicap, Mrs Miller ; Mrs Hubbard’s trophy, Mrs Bray ; four-ball match, Misses Gibb ; bogey match, Miss G. Gibb; sealed hole match, Miss M. Gibb ; first-year players’ 12-hole match, Miss Forrest; 18hole and flag matches, Miss Forrest; Hanna Shield, Mrs Silcock and A. E. Surrey ; club handicap, H. H. Bray ; junior championship, Dr. Davis ; president’s trophies, T. A. Morseby (senior), Dr. Davis (junior) ; monthly medal rounds, H. Bray, C. Ward, K. Page, and T. A. Moresby. A delightful afternoon tea served by the lady members concluded a most delightful and enjoyable day accompanied by perfect weather.
