At a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council last Wednesday, when the subject of the conference of delegates of affiliated municipalities and town boards to be held at Invercargill was under discussion, the Mayor, Mr F. Robbins, said it would be too expensive to send a delegate there. He thought they should send forward a remit in regard to the question of reducing valuations after the borough estimates were adopted. He suggested that the remits be prepared by a committee and then submitted to the council. This was agreed to.
