RIFLE SHOOTING.
PAEROA’S MINIATURE CLUB.
WEDNESDAY’S TROPHY SHOOT.
The weekly shoot of the Paeroa Defence Miniature Rifle Club was held on Wednesday night in the local Drill Hall, and despite the bad weather conditions there was a good atendance of members. The competition was a handicap shoot for a trophy donated by Mr A. A. Jenkinson, and was shot for under the usual conditions.
Thfee members reached the limit, and after a close and keen shoot-off the president of the club, Mr F. C. Hubbard, won with 97.
The scoring was as follows :— President F. C. Hubbard, score 100, handicap 1, total 100 ; H. A. Morrison, 98, 4—loo ; C. Miller, 97, B—loo ; M. Simmonds, 97, I—9B1 —98 ; R. W. Roberts, 96, 2—98 ; A. A. Jenkinson, 97, scr.— 97; R. I. Roberts, 95, 2—97; H. Lewer, 94, 3—97 ; E. Mead, 94, 2— 96 ; M. Charlesworth, 94, 2—96 ; L. Vernon, 80, 10—90 ; N. J. Lattimer. 87, 2—89. The shoot-off resulted : F. C. Hubbard, 97, scr.—97 ; H. A. Morrison, 94, 2—96 ; C. Millar, 93, 3—96.
