SURVEYORS’ EXAM.

A LOCAL SUCCESS. OLD PAEROA SCHOOL BOY. In the list of 15 successful candidates at the examination for the surveyor’s certificate and registration which has just been concluded in Wellington, Mr D. L. Leach, son of Mr D. Leach, was included. Mr Leach was a pupil of the Paeroa District High School, and entered the Lands and Survey Department some eight years ago, being first at the Wellington and afterwards at the. Lands Drainage Office, Auckland. About three years, ago he was appointed a field cadet under Mr J. 'J. Carroll, working principally round the King Country. That Mr Leach passed as one of these 15 the first time he sat is a most creditable performance.
