VISIT OF AEROPLANES.
ARRANGEMENTS IN HAND. LANDING ON RACECOURSE. The visiting aeroplanes of the Auckland Aero Club are due to. arrive at 10 a.m. on Wednesday on the Racecourse. The public are welcome to attend the landing, for which the local schoolchildren will be allowed time off from their studies to see. To guard against possible accidents and the overrunning of the actual landing ground by spectators all precautions will be taken, with Lieut. V. J. Innes, N.Z.S.C., in charge of the operations. The police will also be in attendance. No passenger flights will be undertaken. At 11 a.m. the aviators, Paproa borough councillors, and members of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce will hold a conference at the Borough Chambers to go into the subjects of landing grounds, commercial aviation, and any other matters which may be brought forward.
The, visitors will be entertained to lunch privately, it is understood, and will leave at 2.30 p.m. for Te Aroha, where they will remain the night before proceeding to Cambridge iff continuation of their North Island flight.
The Mayor of Paeroa, Mr W.. Marshall, will in all probability make the journey by air from Auckland to- Paeroa with the visiting flight. ’
