COMMERCE CHAMBERS.
DOMINION CONFERENCE. TO BE HELD IN AUCKLAND. For the first time in six years a Dominion conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce will be held in Auckland on October 14 and 15. The vice-president of the Association, Mr C. P. Agar, of Christchurch, will preside. Addresses have been arranged to be delivered by Mr L. A. Paish, the newly appointed British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, Dr. E. Marsden, permanent head of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and Mr R. L. Ziman, of Auckland.
Delegates will be accompanied by their wives. A round of social functions has been arranged for their entertainment.
On Saturday, October 12, the day on which the delegates are expected to reach Auckland, they will probably be taken on a harbour excursion in the afternoon. In the evening a harbour excursion will be held.
On Sunday afternoon members will be taken on a motor run, and they will be the guests of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at a banquet on Monday evening. The chamber’s monthly luncheon on the Tuesday will be held in honour of the visitors. The business of the conference will be concerned with the discussion of remits on numerous economic questions submitted by affiliated chambers. The constitution of the associated chambers will also be discussed.
