VISITORS FROM COROMANDEL.

MATCH AGAINST PIRATES.

On Saturday at the domain a splendid and exciting match should be witnessed when the Coromandel Wanderers visit Paeroa to play a return match with the local Pirates team. This will be the first occasion on which a visit has been paid by an outside team to Paeroa this season, and as such will be an added draw, it being always an attraction to see visitors and players who are strangers in action. PRIMARY V. HIGH SCHOOL. The Paeroa Primary School representatives played a friendly match against, the Paeroa High School B team oh Saturday afternoon last. A useful practice was indulged in, the Primary team winning by 21 points to 8. PAEROA RUGBY UNION. WEEKLY MEETING. At the usual weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union management committee on Monday night, Mr J. M. Crosby, chairman, presided over Messrs D. Frost, J. C. H. McDonald, W. Neil, H. Robinson, E. Shaw, J. Walmsley, and W. A. Fathers (hon. secretary). General. The application of the Royal Jubilee Oddfellows to play at Tuakau on October 5 was granted, together with the loan of jerseys, with the proviso that they be returned washed. The secretary was instructed to write to the secretary of the local Maori team which competed for the Ratana Cup, asking why they had not fulfilled theii’ promise concerning jerseys loaned. The action of the secretary in agreeing with the secretary of the Thames Valley Rugby Union re the Piako-Waihi match, to be played at Paeroa on October 5, was endorsed, any further arrangements in connection with the match to be left in the hands of the chairman. The copy of a letter from the Piako Rugby Union to the secretary of the Thames Valley Rugby Union was referred back to the latter, with the intimation that the Paeroa Rugby Union was unable to understand any portion of it, and demanding an explanation of charges made against any member or members of the Paeroa Rugby Union.
