Mr Lawrence was the recipient of a gold pencil from the Club members, and their best wishes for success in his new sphere of activity. “Mr C. Townshend was appointed to the position of hon- secretary and treasurer. “The membership stands at 19. It is hoped to increase this number during the ensuing year. “Tours of Inspection.—The very pleasant innovation was introduced during the year of tours of inspection of members’ herds. Messrs Hall and Son’s herd at Matatoki, Mr M. Crimmins’ at Waikino, and Mr W.- Muir’s at Waihi were inspected, the programme proving most enjoyable and instructive to all who made the trip. It is intended to continue these informal functions until all members’ herds have been inspected. “Papers.-r Messrs G. Buchanan and the late W. J. A resolution was passed to the effect that the possibilities of the parent body subsidising clubs out of its annual subscription of£l Is be considered. Mr Townshend said it was understood that the parent body had under consideration a* publicity scheme of advertising. He considered that no better form of publicity could be suggested than the gaining Of new members. Each member was naturally a publicity agent himself, and would co more good than advertising any other way, General. Mr Buchanan was congratulated on his appointment as an official judge of the N.Z.
