POSITION OF THE QUEENS. At noon to-day the Sports Queen was leading, followed by the Farmers’ Queen, will, the Business Queen third. The clock dial records £659 13s 9d. COMING EVENTS. July 31.— Concert, Aurora Theatre, Paeroa. SPORTS QUEEN. Thursday, July 25.—Fancy Dress Hockey Match. Friday, August 2.— Children’s Fancy Dress Eall, Paeroa. FARMERS’ QUEEN. TIROHIA. BRING AND BUY STALL A very successful Bring and Buy stall was held at Tirohia on Saturday for the benefit of Miss Isabel Veale’s Maid of Honour fund- A good variety of saleable articles was received, and these met with a ready sale. Owing to the forethought and energy of the helpers in erecting, a weatherproof shelter the showery weather caused very little inconvenience. The proceeds were satisfactory, and fully justified the elfort expended on the undertaking. Maid of Honour Competition. The Maid of Honour competition, for the purpose of selecting a Maid of Honour to attend at the crowning ceremony, is now in full swing, and the candidates' are all enthusiastic in their efforts to devise fresh schemes, for bringing in votes for the Queen. The candidates arc : Misses Valda Brown, Hikutaia ; Joy Buchanan, Paeroa : Alma Harold, Netherton ; Agnes Morrison, Hikutaia ; Isabel Veale, Tirohia : and Jean Vowles, Netherton. CATTLE DRIVE. The cattle drive which has been proceeding for some time past culminated at the Loan and Mercantile Co.’s sale at Paeroa on Monday. It required several pens to hold all the stock that had been donated, and some of them were, valuable animals. Ponies, poultry, potatoes, and pigs were also disposed of to the account of the. Farmers’ Queen, as well as sundry items of farm requisites. As the Loan ad Mercantile Agency has charged no commission on the cash sales, the fund will benefit considerably. The competition for estimating the dressed' weight of a fat lamb drew a large number of entries, the proceeds' also going to the Queen’s fund. . The luncheon stall, conducted by some of the Netherton ladies, was patronised by a large number of wellsatisfied customers, and darkness had fallen before the ladies were able-to pack up and thank the Rev. Lowden for the use of his garage. SPORTS QUEEN. NETHERTON DANCE. Last evening a very enjoyable function was held at Netherton in aid of the Sports Queen fund. Dancing at-tracted-most qf those present, the hall being just comfortably filled. Music and floor being excellent, the dancers took full advantage, the night coming to a close all too soon.

In the euchre tournament the prizes were won as follows': Mrs Bain 1, Miss Richmond 2 ; men, Mr Richmond 1, Mrs Stembridge 2. .
