APRIL AVERAGES. FIGURES FOR DISTRICT GROUPS April figures for groups of cows in this district tested by the N.Z. Cooperative Herd Testing Association are as follows :— Ngatea.—This season, 775 cows, 4001 b milk, 4.5 test, 18.331 b fat; last season, 676 cows, 3661 b milk, 4.7 test, 17.291 b fat. Highest herd, of 74 cows, averaged 22.511 b fat; highest cow 491 b fat, lowest cow 31b fat. Netherton.—This season, 842 cows, 3261 b milk, 4.7 test, 15.651 b fat; last season, 772 cows, 3211 b milk, 5.1 test, 16.471 b fat. Highest herd, of 36 cows, averaged 23.691 b fat; highest cow 371 b fat, lowest cow 21b fat. Patetonga.—This season, 586 cows, 2851 b milk, 5.6 .test, 16.241 b fat; last , season, 824 cows, 2981 b milk, 5.1 test, 15.371 b fat. Highest herd, of 27 cows, averaged 25.371 b fat ; highest cow 391 b fat, lowest cow 21b fat. Shelly Beach.—This season, 156 cows, 2931 b milk, 5.2, test, 15.231 b fat; last season, 195 cows, 3061 b milk, 4.9 test, 15.291 b fat. Highest herd, of 41 cows, averaged 19.801 b fat; highest cow 341 b fat, lowest cow 51b fat. Turua.—-This season, 501 cows, 3531 b milk, 5.3 test, 19.061 b fat ; last season, 524 cows, 3681 b milk, 5.0 test, 18.601 b fat. Highest herd, of 26 cows, averaged 27.921 b fat ; highest cow 441 b fat, lowest cow 51b fat. Waihi.—This season, 797 cows, 3241 b milk, 5.2 test, 17.091 b fat; last season, 710 cows, 4021 b milk, 4.8 test, 19.471 b fat. Highest herd, of 27 cows, averaged 26.181 b fat; highest cow 531 b fat, lowest cow 31b fat. Waitakaruru.—This season, 339 cows, 3681 b milk, 4.8 test, 17.951 b fat; last season, 377 cows, 3691 b milk, 4.8 test, 17.941 b fat. Highest herd, of 27 cows, averaged 27.621 b fat; highest cow 361 b fat, lowest cow 31b fat. Average for 52,188 cows tested in April, 3941 b milk, 4.9 test, and 19.501 b fat last season ; 62,645 cows tested in April, 3831 b milk, 5.1 test, 19.661 b fat this season. Taima again takes the first place H’. the highest monthly group average, this time with 28.411 b fat, making three firsts for the year. The highest herd average was that of Karapiro with 411 b fat, Coromandel coming fourth with 36.751 b fat.. The highest-individual cow was in the Tamahere district with 741 b fat.
