DANCE AND EUCHRE.
EAST CLUB’S FUNCTION. AN ENJOYABLE EVENING. Some 200 couples took the floor to a splendid selection of music at the East Football Club’s dance at the Gaiety Theatre on Tuesday evening and enjoyed themselves to the uttermost. The hall was beautifully decorated, the club’s colours, black and yellow, predominating.
In the euchre tournament there was a shortage of men players, with the result that in some cases ladies deputised. The winners were : Men’s section, Mrs Radford Ist, Mrs D. Johnston 2nd ; ladies’ section, Miss M. Moore Ist, Mrs W. Grant 2nd. A delicious supper was served, the arrangements being capably looked after by Mesdames W. Neil and Pennell.
From every point of view, financial as well as entertainment, the affair was a complete success, and the hon. secretary, Mr H. Moore, whose indefatigable activities were largely responsible for it, is to be heartily congratulated.
