The appearance in Paeroa at the Aurora Theatre on Friday next of the famous J. C. Williamson “Midnight Frolics” Revue Company is being looked forward to with pleasurable anticipation. The critic of the Christchurch Press .writes as follows : “ ‘The Midnight Frolics’ are presenting a bill at His Majesty’s Theatre eminently in keeping with their great reputation, and it was not surprising to find the ‘house full’ sign very early displayed nightly. There is also a delightful variety in the offerings, which include humour galore, catchy songs, clever dancing, artistic sketches, remarkable violin playing, a breezy jazz band, and other attractions calculated to enthuse the most fastidious of vaudeville and revue patrons. The stage settings, too, are of quite a unique and brilliant type, and the lighting effects, costumes, and other accessories go towards the complement of a really wonderful entertainment, which the large audience evidently highly appreciated.” Miss Mona Magnet, a distinguished London artist,, scored a complete success. Her fine dancing, sweet singing, and delightful acting were highly appreciated. Mr Clem Dawe, besides being a real comedian, is gifted with a remarkably keen sense of humour. He Is probably the best laugh-maker yet seen in the Dominion. He is assisted in his /unmaking by Eric Edgley, and these two artists are a happy combmatic.i of jesters. The speciality dancing is headed by a charming- artist, Phyllis Amery, and Gregory' Ivanoff’s violin playing is always welcome. The box plans are at Flatt's.
