OPENING OF PAEROA CLUB. LARGE NUMBER AT RINKS. At the opening of the Paeroa Golf Club on Saturday mixed foresomes were played during the afternoon, 30 players from Thames taking part with some 80 Paeroa ones. The best cards handed in on the conclusion of play were by Miss L. Thorp, of Paeroa, and Mr Purnell, of Thames, with a score of 44 for 9 holes. A large gathering partook of most excellent afternoon tea, provided by the lady members of the club. The president, Mr A. Pellow, in the course of a short speech, welcomed the Thames players and spoke for the success of the coming season.
