I’IG-MARKETLNG association. MONTHLY REPORT. The N.Z. Co-operative Pig-MarKet-ing Association, Hamilton, has. issued the following .monthly report Another successful, month, is reported, 6138 pjgs being handled, a substantial i her ease over the number, handled 1 forthei sam® month last year. Supplies are; now starting Lq decline, however, as the supply off milk goes down. As is only to be expected the largest proportion of piga coming forward are of Parker weights. There will be no necessity to store porkers; this season, except perhaps very late in the season, so that a repetition of last year’s experience is prevented. All pigs received to date this season ore sold, and pools are linalised as quickly as account salqs come to hand. Indications are that the season will be a very satisfactory one, as prices have been flfim both in the United Kingdom, apd New Zealand for some time. Mac li valuable experience has beqn gained this season both ip the marketing of pigs and in the dressing, of pigs; for market. A certain amount of moie or less less experimental work has had to be carried out, but the result- of these experiments more than justified same. The demand for pig carcases; this season has far exceeded the supply, and good sales in the United Kingdom, Australia, and locally have had to be; declined owing to insufiiciency of supplies. The association; is at present endeavouring to get ton,to a cheap sup-i ply of pig food for its, suppliers jn a direction previously unexplored. Prospects are encouraging.
