PAEROA DEFEATS MOBBINSVILLE.

GOOD LEAD IN COMPETITION.

On Saturday the Paeroa tepm travelled to Morrinsville and gained; a victory over that club’s eleven. As a result of this win the Paeroa; team has a lead in points that the competition has practically be;e.n decided.

The last few minutes of this match wefie packet! with interest and dent. With quarter of, an hour to go Paeroa had; the obstacle of five wickets- ahead of them. Howard was put on to bowl and rose splendidly to the occasion. In tejn minutes he took five wickets, including three in fli maiden over, winning the match for Paeroa with only five minutes to spare.- Another outstanding feature of the game was the way in which Wright get into his stride, hitting out in pretty style and reminding one cf his former performances. Knight again compiled his usual big score, this time, carrying, his bat for 56. Stack also showed a return to his, last year’s form with a useful 40. Paeroa declared when seven wickets had fallen.
