PUBLIC WORKS OFFICIAL. COURT GRANTS REMANDCharles James, a clerk employed by the Public, Works Department until quite recently at O.hur.a, and since the New Year at the Paeroa office, was charged before Justices of the Peace at Taumarunui on Monday last with stealing £22 10s, the property of the department. He was remanded until January 26, bail being allowed. The accused was appointed as chief clerk to the local office of the public Works Department to fill the vacancy caused by the promotion of. Mr. J- AWilkinson to the Gisborne; office of the department. .
