DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.
MEETING OF PAEROA BODY. A meeting of t'he Paeroa Defence Rifle. Club was held on Monday evening, Deputy-President F. C. Hubbard presiding over Captain H. Simmonds and Riflemep R. Wells, W. A. Reid, A. Bridge, and A. A. Jenkinson (secretary). It was decided tq purchase two cases of ammunition.
The Ta.uranga Club wrote inviting the club to send a team there on November 24. •
It was decided to reply that other arrangements had been made for that date, but the club hoped to send a team over during the season.
A statement was received from the qrdnance officer of the Northern Military Command stating that the free grant of 3400' rounds, of ammunition had been forwarded.
Accounts amounting to £l7 6s 7d were passed for payment. One of the c.lub’s vice-presidents wrote accepting the position and enclosing a donation. Deputy-President F. C. Hubbard intimated that hq would gjve a ; trophy to be shot for, the committee to decide the day, range, and conditions. A resolution thanking the donor was passed, and it was decided tq shoot f'or the trophy on December, 1, the ranges to be 200, 300, and 500 yards, with seven shots and one lighter from eac.li range.
It was decided to hold a club championship fey, the season, consisting, of ten shoots, seven to count. The first shoots were to take place on December 1 and 8 at 300 and. 500 yards. A club handicap championship for the. season was also decided on, to cqnsist of 12 'shoots with eight to Count, the first shoots to take place on the same dates as the club championship.
