PAEROA BOROUGH.
MEETING of council. The monthly meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council was held oji Thursday, there being present: His Worship tire Mayor (Mr. W- Marshall). Crs. E. A. Porrit.t, F. E. Flatt. P. E. Brenan, W. Turner, J. W. Silcock, E. Edwards, anjel Mr W. C. Alexander (town clerk). COMPLAINT ON FOOTPATH. Mrs M. O’Hara wrote complaining of the state oif the footpath in front of her home in Kennedy Street The letter was- referred to the wo,rks committee, with poorer to act. SEWERAGE EXTENSION. An application to have the sewerage main at the top of Kennedy Street extended to her. property, a.nd offering to contribute £5 towards the cost, was received from Mrs L. M. Towers. The application' was referred t ; o the chairman of the finance, committee and the Mayor, with power to act: It was the,ught that the application required sericue consideration owing to the distance it required to reach the main. PARKING CARS. With reference to the parking, of cars at the Paeroa railway station. Crs. Edwards and Brenan reported II al; they had visited' the. i(tation. and ta.ken observations at busy times: at the station. They found most of the motor vehicles backed into the kerb, but several were head on to the kerb. The coprmittee reported that, for the sake of uniformity, all vehicles should be compelled to back into the kerb. PETROL PUMP. The application of E. S. Thomas for permissioji; to erect a. petrol pump in front of his new garage wa.s granted, subject, to the usual conditions.
