LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES.

DEFEATED BY TAURANGA TEAM.

On Saturday the Paeroa' Latites’ Hockey Club sent a combined A and B team to aTuranga, where a, friendly match was played at the Tauranga doma’n. The home side, which fielded practically ’its representative team; defeated the visitors by two goals to on,e. Considering- that the ' Paeroa team was without the- services of some of its best, A players the result was very creditable. The game throughout was fast aiul interesting. .Hockey is a very popular game at Tauranga ■and l there was a large attendance of the public to see the match. For, the winners goals, were scored by Miss K. Kennedy (2), and M'isp V. Shand nettled for Paeroa. Mr. A- Leslie was referee. « HAURAKI PLAINS GAMES'. Once again the prevalence of influenza prevented the full programme: of the Hauraki Plains ladies’ -hockey competition for Saturday last ftorn be* ing carried out, and only two games eventuated. The Ngate-a Ladies and Turua met at Ngatea the game going to the home team by eight goals to’ one. Misses L. C. Ellis (5), D. Wade, E. Wade, and Mrs N. Jackson netted, for Ngatea, while Turua’s goal was shot by Miss E. Stephens. .In the Kerepeehi v. Kopuarahi B match Misses E. Hegh and D. Courtney (2). of Kerepeehi, were the only scorers.
