TURUA. CHURCH CONCERT. At the conclusion of the annual meeting of members of the Presbyterian Church at Tur.ua, on Monday evening a short concert was presented to an appreciative audience in the Town Hall. The Rev. J. Milne, of Thames, presided in the unavoidable absence of the Rev. J. Lowden, of Paeroa, Among the vocalists who contrllbuted items were Misses R. McCullay and Lipsey, of Te Aroha, Mesdames Hardman and Judd, Miss Schofield, and Messrs Johnston an!d J. Hardman, of Thames, and a Thames quartette. NGATEA. CHURCH SOCIAL. A very pleasant social was held in the Ngatea Hall on Wednesday evening by the Church of England! Ladies’ Guild in aid of the Church Building Fund. There was a fairly large attendance of dancers and a, number of euchre players. The music was by Mayne’s Ngateans Orchestra, apd Mr J. Neate was M.C. . The- prizes for the euchre tournament went to Mrs Dickson and Mr W. Williams, wh'le Mrs Richards; and Mr. R. Phillips were awarded consolation prizes. Tire Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr and Miss McKercha.r. After supper, had been served the Rev. D. Maddison, the vicar, expressed thanks op behalf of the guild to those who had attended and to those who had assisted by donations towardte the supper.
