BUTTER PRICES ADVANCE
• HIGHEST RATE SINGE 1925. CHEESE VALUES MAINTAINED. Tt'ere has been, a further, nise in the price of New Zealand butter on thje Home market, the increase amounting to 4s a cwt. Cablegrams received by 'Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., and Dalgety Company, Ltd., both Quote 186 s for finest and 184 s for first grade* The market is reported to be firm. A price of 112 - for cheese is being maintained on a firm market.
The quotation of 186 s is the highest since the; beginning of December, 1925, when values were fallipg after a six months’ period of high prices. The level of 184 s was touched during Septembei’ last year, and subsequently the highest quotation was 1745, in March th's year. The present marked improvement began last month, and from 166 s the maximum quotations have advanced in six weeks to the present figure.
