heavy Yarding at paeroa. The monthly stock sale conducted by the N-Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., was held at the Paeroa yards on Monday. There was an exceptionally heavy yarding, of stock, dairy cattle' in particular being yarded in large numbers. A big tasj< was set the auctioneer, and although the sale commenced about 12.30 p.m. ? it was just on dusk when the last line was offered. An earlier start would' undoubtedly be of advantage. There wa,s a good attendance of buyers from all parts, and bidding was spirited throughout. Everything, changed hands at values very firm at late market quotations. Best dairy cows and heifers brought from £lO 10s to £l2 15s, others £9 10s to £lo, sjnaller £7 10s to £9 ; backward springers £5 10S to *£7; old and inferior cows £3 10s to £5 55.; prime fat cows £6 10s to £8 5s ; fat .and forward cows £5 5 S to £.6 5s ; fresh-conditioned cows £4 5s to £5 ; boner cows £3 10s to £4 2s 6d ; aged and inferior cows £2 to £3 5s ; in-calf heifers £3 15s to £6 : yearling Jersey heifers £3 10s to £4 15s ; shorthorn ajid broken coloured heifers £ 210 s to £3 ss,
