MOTOR CAR CAPSIZES.
ACCIDENT ON WAIHI ROAD.
THE REV. J. LOWDEN INJURED.
An unenviable experience befell the Rev. J. Lowden, Presbyterian minister, Paeroa when returning from taking a service at Karangahake ye'jterflay afternoon.
He was motoring to 'Paeroa alone, and had safely negotiated Turner’s Hill and was just travelling along, the fairly level stretch near the abattoir when, in taking a. bend tin the road, the sun straight on to the windscreen. The dazzle partly obscured. Mn Lowden’s vision, and in taking the precaution of pulling farther on to his. correct s,ide of the road lie; misjudged the distance, with the result that the car left the road and capsized. Mr Lowden only had time to shut the engine off, and then went over with the car, which was turned upside down with Mn Lowden pinned underneath and the hood resting on hi,s chest. No one saw the accident, and ‘it was not until some time afterwards that a passing oar, driven' by Mr Paterspji., Waihi, noticed the capsized Willing hands, released Mr Lowden, and he was taken into the residence of Mr A. Lawrence and Dr. Little was summoned. A cursory examination by the doctor showed that no bones were broken, and after a rest the Rev. Lowden was able to return to his home.
