LARGE YARDING AT PAEROA. GOOD PRICES’ OBTAINED. The largest yarding of stock for many months was submitted, to auction by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., at Pa.er'oa on Monday. That stock sales have come to stay at Paeroa was clearly evidenced, not only by the large numbers penned but also by reasoni of the fact th;a,t vendors from all pqrts of tlie district penned cattle for sale. Tlie firm’s auctioneer, Mr. Foote, was faced with rather a, formidable task, but bidding ca.me fairly freely, and to his credit t!>e selling was completed just before dusk. Buyers were present.from Askland, Waikato, and various parte of the district, and they operated freely, most lines changing hands at ruling and, in a number of instances, above ruling prices. Best dairy cows brought from £9 10s to £ll ; beet dairy heifers, £7 15s to £8 10s ; backward snrngers, £5 5s to £7 5s ;-beef cows and heifers, £7 to £8; rough beef cows, £4 10b to £6 17s 6d ; aged and 'inferior cows, £2 10s to £4 10s ; 2%-year-old steers, up to £6 15s ; in-calf heifers, £4 10s to £6 10s ; bulls;, £4 12s 6d to £7. THE NGATEA YARDING. SATISFACTORY PRICES. A very large yarding of cattle at the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Company’s monthly s,ale at Ngatea yesterday met with, good competition a, n( l sold at prices which compared, more than, favourably with the rates obtained at other sales in the district. In dairy cattle the best quality cows and heifers brought from £8 15s to £ll, backward £5 10s to £B, and old and 'inferior £3 10s to £5 5& ; fat cow& brought up to £9, others from £5 .lOS to £7 ; good forward cows £4 10s to £5 5s ; boners from £3 upward, and aged and inferior cows from £2 upward. One pen of good forward and killable steers brought £7 15s, cattle from £4 10s to £5 ss, and yearling steers from £2 5s to £2 15s. Ini' calf heifers brought from £3 10s to £5 5s ; Jersey heifer calves £2 15s to £3 10s, and Shorthorn heifer calves from £3ss to £2 10s. Bulls brought from £3 10s to £7 l'ss.
