TENNIS DANCE. HAURAKI PLAINS ASSOCIATION. The sixth annual ball to be held by the Haurakl Plains Tennis Association takes place at the Turua Ha,ll tonight, when the presentation of trophies won during last season, will be made by Mr A. M. Samuel, M-P-The Dixie Boys Orchestra has been engaged, and an enjoyable night is assured. PLUNKET SOCIETY’S SOCIAL. In order to raise funds for the equipping and maintenance of suitable rooms, the Paeroa branch of the Plunket Society is holding a bridge tournament and dance at the Ga.iety Theatre to-morrow night. For the Widners of the bridge tournament handsome prizes have been provided, and competition is bound to be keen. The Hauraki Orchestra Is providing the music for dancers, a.nd, jn addition to other novelties, a special prize is to be awarded to the dance,r possessing the prettiest legs. As the proceeds are to be devoted to a worthy cause the generous support of the public is confidently hoped for. BRING-AND-BUY SALE. The Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild is holding a “Bring-and-Buy” sale at the Centenary Hall on Friday from 1.30 to 5 p.m. A cordial welcome is extended to all. During the afternoon elocutionary a,nd musical items will be contributed.
